Michael has nearly 20 years of experience in federal and state and local taxation. His focus is on capital intensive industries including regulated and non-regulated electric utilities, oil and gas companies and the companies that support them. Projects include planning, audit defense and large-scale capital recovery. Mike’s understanding of the business operations of utilities and oil and gas companies allows him to instantly provide value and work with clients in the boardroom and in the field.
Prior to returning to GMG as a Partner in the SF office, Michael held roles as Principal Manager – State and Local Tax Planning at Southern California Edison in Los Angeles and Tax Counsel – Excise Tax at Chevron in the Bay Area.
Michael is a member of the New York State Bar, received his B.A. in Politics from Fairfield University, his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law and his M.B.A. from Georgia Tech where he was awarded a full fellowship to attend tuition-free.
