His clients include several Fortune 500 companies engaged in the retail, technology, utility and financial services sectors.
Zach has worked extensively with audit teams, supervisors and managers in state revenue departments across the United States. He has represented taxpayers and negotiated settlements in hundreds of controversies involving income, sales and use, property, commercial rent, gross receipts and real property transfer taxes.
Prior to founding GMG in 2001, Zach was a partner in the State and Local Tax practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. He is a member of the New York State Bar and American Bar Association.Education
Tom has an extensive tax and legal background, and has practiced federal and state and local tax for more than 20 years. He provides general tax consulting to a variety of large corporations, and works closely with his clients to address their tax needs. Tom's extensive legal, federal tax and financial accounting expertise sets him apart from other state tax specialists. Tom also has considerable experience in managing restructuring projects for large, multinational corporations, and is adept at identifying and resolving the business/operational issues associated with the restructurings.
Before founding GMG, Tom was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in charge of the State and Local Tax optimization group. Tom also worked at a law firm for several years specializing in corporate and tax law. Joe is a CPA with over 20 years experience in federal and state taxation and tax accounting matters.
He has considerable experience advising regulated and non regulated electric and gas industry clients on tax matters. He also advises regulated clients on ratemaking issues and related financial accounting impacts. Joe has provided written and oral testimony in state regulatory proceedings. He also has significant experience in representing clients before federal and state auditors and in protest and appeals proceedings.
Prior to joining GMG Joe was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. While at PwC, Joe served as a partner in both the State and Local Tax practice and in the Electric and Gas Industry Practice. Prior to PwC, Joe was a Tax Director and Capital Recovery Manager for a public utility company. Joe has a B.A. in Accounting from Santa Clara University.Education
Diane has more than 25 years of experience with state and local income/franchise taxes, including planning, implementation, compliance, refund review and audit defense, and considerable experience managing large, complex engagements. She also has extensive experience with state tax issues and planning relating to mergers, acquisitions and other corporate reorganizations, multi-state sales and use taxes, real property transfer taxes and other miscellaneous taxes. Diane's state and local tax knowledge is supplemented by her federal income tax experience derived from her years working at a New York City law firm.

She was a key member of the state tax planning group and the lead state tax partner for several Fortune 100 companies. Amanda has 20 years of experience specializing in state and local income and transactional taxes. Amanda leads GMG's sales tax practice providing a multitude of services to GMG's clients in various industries, including telecommunications, retail and financial services. Her experience includes: state and local audit defense, advisory services with regard to transactional tax issues, voluntary disclosures, claims for refund, and requests for advisory opinions.
Prior to joining Grant McCarthy Group, LLC, Amanda was a manager in the Tax and Legal Services practice in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's New York office. Since joining Grant McCarthy Group in 2001, Amanda has acted in a lead role in providing service to the firm's telecommunications and retail clients. She has also been instrumental in expanding the firm's service offerings. Her experience includes: designing and implementing tax efficient corporate structures for several Fortune 500 clients, managing large-scale global restructuring engagements and negotiating economic incentive packages for several large corporate clients. She received the Coopers & Lybrand Client Service Achievement Award for serving as a member of the Hicks, Muse Tate & Furst LBO deal team and is a regular presenter at the annual Telestrategies Conference.

Since joining Grant McCarthy Group in 2003, Lori has provided a broad array of state and local tax services to GMG's clients in various industries, with an emphasis in the hospitality industry. Lori specializes in transactional taxes, audit defense and income/sales tax consulting services. While at GMG, Lori was the lead state and local tax advisor for a major real estate company undertaking the sale of over $4B in assets. Lori is also a guest speaker at state and local tax conferences.
